Ten members of KMPA and their families, escaped from the sultry summer heat, spending a two-day leisure trip (25th and 26th May, 2019) in the cool, mist-laden mountains of Munnar. Led by R. Gopakumar, President, KMPA, the holiday was an enjoyable moment at the luxurious Chandy’s Windy Woods Resort.
Tourists from India and around the world have been drawn to these lush green tea-and-spice plantations, silvery cascades painted against a sylvan canvas, and primeval tropical forests which supports a unique wildlife. Munnar also has the distinction of having the highest tea plantations in the world, at an elevation of 2,368 meters above sea level, besides a host of natural and man-made attractions.
The very name Munnar connotes the confluence of the three rivers – viz. Kundaly, Mudhirapuzha, and Nallathani. With cloud-draped mountains, sun-kissed meadows, and the ghostly fog for a perennial company, Chandy’s Windy Woods offered great views below, with its terraced location on a precipitous slope.
The deluxe rooms offered all modern creature comforts, while the amenities complemented the stay – be it the swimming pool, game room, spa, or health club.
Activities offered were forest tours, bird watching trips, trekking, mountain biking, property tour, and jeep safari.
The fun-filled two-day trip was worth a cherish.
