In the context of devastating floods that literally ravaged several parts of Kerala, KMPA extended its philanthropic hands to do every possible help both to the flood affected members and their employees as well as to the Keralites through the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. In the Flood Relief programme held at Hotel Renai Kochi, Palarivattom, KMPA donated Rs. 23 lakhs to nine of its members and the employees who were badly affected by the deluge. Altogether there were 157 employees who benefited from this philanthropic gesture.
Mr. Mohammed Y. Safirulla, Hon’ble District Collector of Ernakulam inaugurated the function and distributed the cheques. Mr. Gopakumar, President of KMPA handed over a cheque of Rs. 2.5 lakhs to the District Collector in a gesture of donation to the Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund. Earlier, immediately after the flood, Rs. 8 lakhs were donated to the members as an interim relief.
In the same programme, Mr. O. Venugopal, handed over books to Mr. Suresh (the winner of the Kerala Government’s Best Teacher Award 2018) as a symbolic gesture of KMPA’s donation of books to the students of various schools in the central Kerala, who suffered the rage of floods. The books were sponsored by Anaswara Offset, Ernakulam.
