The second Managing Committee Meeting of Kerala Master Printers Association for the term 2018 – 20 was held on 8th December 2018 at the Palghat Cosmopolitan Club, Palakkad. Mr. R. Gopakumar, the President of KMPA presided over the meeting, which was attended by 22 members.
Welcoming the participants, the President briefed about the importance of spreading the Association’s activities to smaller cities within Kerala. He informed the meeting that, similar to how the ‘Kottayam Chapter of KMPA’ was formed immediately after the 1st Managing Committee meeting at Kottayam, the ‘Palakkad Chapter of KMPA’ would be formed soon after the 2nd Managing Committee meeting that day. He welcomed to the meeting special invitees, Mr. Harish of Penta Offset and Mr. Sony of S&S Associates, both representing the newly formed Kottayam Chapter. He suggested to the meeting that the Association should make necessary amendments in its bylaws to include representatives of various chapters. He requested the members to actively start working for the successful conduct of the upcoming major event: Print & Beyond 2019. The Minutes of previous Managing Committee Meeting held on 10th September 2018 was read by Gen. Secretary Mr. Biju Jose, and was adopted after Mr. G. Venugopal proposed and Mr. R. Haridas seconded it.
Mr. Raju N. Kutty, the treasurer of KMPA presented the periodic accounts of KMPA and was approved by the committee after due deliberations. Mr. G. Venugopal on behalf of Sterling Print House expressed sincere gratitude to KMPA and the Managing Committee for the financial support as flood relief to his unit and the staff members.
The meeting unanimously congratulated IPP, Mr. S. Saji for coordinating a world record event of simultaneous release of 584 books on 1st Nov 2018 at Kollam organized by Lions Club. Saji thanked the committee for the appreciation and expressed his thanks to KMPA office bearers and senior members for attending the function. He also gave a brief introduction of KMPA Kottayam Chapter’s functioning.
Seminar committee chairman, Mr. G. Venugopal informed the meeting that the 5thEdition of Print & Beyond Seminar will be held at Holiday Inn Cochin. The Theme of the Seminar is ‘Make in India- Success Stories’. He informed the meeting that he is trying to get Mr. Gautham Pai as the Key Note Speaker and conveyed to the meeting on how he visualized the conduct of the event should take place. The meeting was unanimous in offering complete support to his proposals.
Chairman of Exhibitions committee Mr. Yeldho K. George, Chairman of Land & Building committee Mr.Nazir Marikavil, Chairman of Hospitality & Recreation committee Mr. Shaji M. Manjooran and Print Miracle Editor Mr. S. Saji presented their reports. Written reports sent by Mr. Sebastian Thomas, Chairman of Website Committee and Mr. Ragesh G., Chairman of Training & HR Committee was read by the treasurer Mr. Raju N. Kutty.
The Managing Committee Meeting ended at 6.30 pm with vote of thanks rendered by Mr. Biju Jose, Gen. Secretary of KMPA.
